Question
We need to remember to thoroughly question everything we hear. Even our news stations are biased, as they only tell their side of the story. Think of a giant rumour mill at a school, or a small town; that is what News stations are. We need to remember to look more into the stories we care about, we do not need to be so dismal in our beliefs of a true hierarchy. We forget to look at the people, and think of only the events, we are forgetting to care. I thoroughly believe this is the end of blind faith, we can not believe everything we hear. Even reputable sources are wrong again and again. Just look at this whole Dec. 21st 2012 thing, people honestly believe the world is just going to end on a certain day. This is not the first time we have been told about these things, some people have lived through several of them. Imagine living in a world where you truly believe the world is going to end, everyone you care about, everything you own, gone. It is a lot of stress to put on an individual. We have this great thing called perception, everyone has their own. We examine things differently because we see things differently; we feel things differently. I do not want people to blindly believe in me, but I want people to truly listen, to think for themselves. The power is ours, yet we continue to give it away as much as we can. The world is a moving place, our world is different every single day. We wake up to a world of possibilities every day yet most have given up on their-selves. I ask people to listen, and ask questions, do not listen and believe. Our hearts can tell us more if only we were to listen without judgement or discrimination. Our hearts do not discriminate our perception of the things around us alters our point of view. I know we can not change over night, but we can all take small steps towards changing ourselves. A change for the better, a change to bring joy and happiness to all. A change for compassion, and honesty, a time to live without judgment, without discrimination. We are all in this together, whether we like it or not, let's try to make the best of it.
Times Are Changing
And yet we still think Canada is in economical turmoil. Billionaires of Canada were able to make an average of 4% more profit this year compared to last. 4% sounds small, but when you are dealing with a multi-billion dollar company. 4% of a billion dollars is 40 million dollars. Jim Pattison with a 7% increase this year, and I bet he paid less in taxes then a lot of people did. We need to wake up, and stop allowing our country to keep going the way it is going. We love Canada right? Why not stand up and do something about it? We need to stop people from turning into greedy, self-hyped, stuck-up pigs. Especially the people we have in charge. There was a time when we could sit at home and enjoy it, now we need to get off our butts and take our country back. Canada is supposed to be for the people, by the people, and lately it is being run by a few, for profits. I have seen our government lavishly wasting money on a multitude of extravagances. We need to steal from the rich and give to the poor. I do not mean that literally, but philosophically. Somehow the media, and government thinks they have us all figured out with their therapists, and analysts. There is more to human nature than meets the eye, we are all stuck on this floating orb together, why not make it work? Stop going to wal-mart, stop buying excess, you don't need it! Work with your community, work with local farmers, local canneries, fisheries, even butchers. It is time for us to take the power back, time to make wal-mart shut their doors. We need to start thinking of our long-term state, and frankly speaking we are going downhill fast. We rely so heavily on these Economic giants, we are the ones that make them millionaires. We are the ones that allow them to pay us crap salaries. You can not change the world on your own, but you can change yourself, and that is a start. We think of this earth as an object, not even a living thing. Our entire world is floating through space, trapped in a never-ending cycle around a giant ball of gas and heat, we're in this together whether we like it or not. Start working together, create power groups where each individual provides for another. One can be growing, and the other teaching. Another person can harvest, while another butchers, Working together for a common goal: Sanctity of life. If you have enough people working together, you can do your own group buys of necessities, cut out the middle man of wal-mart. We had an industrial revolution, and look where we are today, the average family has less compassion. Less communication, and yes less of a soul. We judge others so harshly that we cut ourselves off, we trap ourselves in our own delusions of happiness. Always trying to achieve it, yet always wanting more. It is human nature to try to do better, the reason we evolved the way we did was to use tools. Our brains got bigger, but our hearts got smaller. We perceive things differently, each and every one of us, no two beings are the same. We all have weaknesses and strength, we do not need survival of the fittest, because with our ingenuity, we can all work together. A fun fact most people do not think about is: There is more then enough food, water, and love to share across the world 40x over. Yet we all fight to be better then one another, we fight to gain dominance. We are not meant to be working for a company, we are not meant to be working for money. We are meant to work for each other, as a species we are failing miserably. We are given so many gifts that we take for granted every single day because we are too caught up in our morning drive to work, or our monthly bills. We never think more then we have to because it takes just as much energy to power our brain as it does our bodies. We have so much more now then we ever did before, we know enough about how the world works, yet we continue to rob the planet of everything it has to offer. We do not give anything back to our own planet, our mother, our god, our only reason for survival. We make community service a chore, and in some instances even a punishment. Every single person in a community should have to do service for that community, and that can be a wide variety of things, from picking up garbage once a month for an hour, or even designating a chunk of land as their clean-up spot. Yet when we try to force people to do things we then must baby sit, because people do not like authority. We will always strive to be bigger and better because it is a dominant trait. we want to prove our superiority. People do it with money, power, and other people's insecurities. Not one person can ever be better, or more important then another. We are all human, we all come from the same place; two humans. Without our home, we would have no homes, I urge everyone to stop buying from businesses, start buying from individuals. We are all in this together, lets all help everyone else, then we can all be truly outstanding human beings. Big businesses constantly believe in profit over people, Irving Oil Ltd. sank a barge off the gulf of St. Lawrence in 1970, and didn't pay for a clean-up. The Canadian government then stepped in and had to remove the barge, with Irving refusing to pay the bill. Finally in 2000 they settled it to a measly 5 million dollar settlement, meanwhile the damage they caused is not fixable, is not measurable, so it is insignificant? It just goes to show that an individual will go to jail for evading the government, but a multi-billion dollar company will not get anything other then a slap on the wrist. Once a business becomes large enough it becomes a conglomerate squeezing out its competition. At that point they are almost free from the laws, they can go around them, they can hide the evidence. They have the power to pay people off, money buys power, yet money is earned by trust. Who are you trusting with your money? With your "fuel", with your planet? I for one do not want to leave it in the hands of soulless faceless companies. I would much rather see it in the hands of my fellow Canadians. This whole Economy is a never ending circle based on trust, and they are destroying that trust. We will trust a name brand before we trust a person, A company making a statement is heard much louder and clearer than a single voice. A collective agreement has been put on us, one we never signed, but we must abide by it. It is written in stone so to speak, it has been etched in our brains that this is the way we do it. We need to stop thinking like this, we need to stop thinking as an individual and start thinking as a family. You do not get to pick your family, you are just born with them, just like every animal does not choose to live with humans. A lot of animals choose to be far far away from us, we come around and take their space. I would never mistake the value of an animal for a human, yet we rely so heavily on animals, shouldn't they have more value then just money? We take and take and take, without giving back, simply because we are so lost in our own worlds, we forget we live in a much bigger one. It is a matter of respect for your fellow beings, every single person deserves respect, whether you are a dirty kid, or a preppy kid. I do not mean respect like they teach us in school, I mean a mutual understanding of one another. We make judgments so fast that we do not even listen to what is being said. We live in a biased world, and always will as long as it is a few running the many. If I had it my way everyone would be king for a day, everyone would be a hobo for a day. The world is about balance, as is our universe, everything is connected, and we need to remember that in every action we do. We are blinded by so many lies, by so many misconceptions of the true world. Look around, we live in a magical place, whether you are religious or not, we can all agree that life is a miracle. Our perception of life is the true miracle. The fact that we ask the fundamental questions makes us human, Who? What? Where? When? How? and the most important question we ask ourselves all of the time is WHY? Without these thoughts in our heads, we would not be the way we are. We cannot make use of certain creations because someone has a patent on it. We can't use certain pictures, or letters, or even symbols, because someone has it copyrighted. Our laws make our morals and our morals make our laws, yet we keep making up new laws all of the time that take away individual rights and freedoms. The government, and businesses lump us together as a whole, when what works for many will not work for a few. However as long as it works for the many why change it? Why because it needs to work for everyone, if everyone wanted it to work that way it would. But we let the mistakes of a few ruin it for the masses. Dynamite was created to help in construction of roads and bridges. The original designs were never to maim and destroy things or people, yet human ingenuity made that all possible. We need to think globally, not economically, we need to think with our brains and hearts, not with our wallets. We are growing as a species, and if we want to live to see tomorrow, we are going to have to change how we look at the world. It is not just ours to take, it is ours to take care of. We know how to grow things renew-ably we know a lot of information that we do not share. We do not share this information because it makes us feel superior and secure, because if everyone knew it would stop making them profit. We need to make businesses accountable for their actions, as well as leaders accountable for every action they do, or say. We need to step-up for a change, one of social responsibility. The truth is every foundation we have built up inevitably must be torn down, not all at once mind you. We need to think of the present, plan for the future, and learn from the past. Our economic structure does not do anyone of those things, it maintains what it already has. A company is not doing well if it is not growing, that means every year their profits need to be higher, every quarter it needs to go up. This is poor business planning, I learnt at a very early age that our entire economy is based on the same fundamentals. It is an up and down cycle, not an up and up cycle. Why is it that CEO's would rather lay off 200 people than take a 2% profit cut? Purely because they are caught up in the matter at hand, and not with the real world all around them. I do not mean to say all CEO's and extremely wealthy people are evil, greedy pigs. I simply hope they are just caught up in the same thing everyone else is caught up with, and once they open their eyes, they too will help in the transitions to come. We have lived too long in an unstable environment, we are coming to a golden age, or an age of chaos, the path we take is up to each and every one of us. Choose to survive, or choose to rape our planet of everything she has to offer us.
